Jean Paul Poggi

Meet Our Executive Chef

Jean Paul Poggi is a talented Chef, known for his culinary expertise, with 18 years of experience in the gastronomic field.

Before starting as Executive Chef at Yara DC, Along with his brother Antonio, Jean Paul was the Head chef of their own restaurant for 12 years in their native Peru. After coming to the United States, they got their start by showcasing Peruvian Gastronomy at different diplomatic events for the Peruvian Consulate, United States Embassy, and the Senate. Jean Paul then went on to work at the Wegmans Company, to which he credits his knowledge of American Culture, and high-quality standards. After Wegmans, he worked as the Director of the Kitchen at Aroma Latin Fusion in, a prestigious restaurant located in Woodbridge VA.

He is currently running the kitchen of the YARA DC restaurant located on the rooftop of the Washington Marriott Capitol Hill.

Jean Paul's goal is to leave a legacy by delivering dishes that tell a story and create memorable experiences for diners.
